We can pick apart his tactics or not- I lay the blame SQUARELY on mgm't.FBI statistics time and again WARN of the threat to officers working ALONE and AT NITE,yet alot of the "mgm't drones"- people who don't wear a uniform or equate desk jockeying to being EQUAL or SUPERIOR to working patrol- don't seem to want or even care about "working officers" safety.They care about image,#s and squeezing exhausted resources to the fullest.I really DON'T CARE what some here might think about the attitude that its okay to work alone,or have blindly accepted the idea that "that's the way it is".Far too many agencies around this country ,even in so-called "cop friendly" communities will turn on you quick if the officer or deputy resorts to ugly,blunt physical force to restore order. I'm even sure that some of those in the group that attacked him wouldn't ordinarily attack or even confront a police officer on a 1:1 basis. Many are more concernned with what will HAPPEN "if" they go to deadly force,and even some will wrongly "stand their ground" instead of rapidly retreating.This could happen to any one of us and I'm sure the Deputy didn't just stand there and take a beating becuase he didn't know what to do-he went into a "routine"( uuughhh ,hate that term) situation and got worked by people who knew they had superior #s and also "knew",or at least formulated the opinion, that they could group attack him without fear of serious reprisal.
